Non-Degree Seeking Students
Applying as a special-status student is for students wishing to enroll in up to two courses per semester as a non-degree-seeking student. Non-degree seeking candidates register for courses on a space-available basis and degree seeking students have priority over non-degree students in course selection.
Determining Special-Status Student Eligibility
We discourage students from taking courses as a special-status student if they intend to apply later as full-time students, though we understand students sometimes change their minds. The admit letter they receive notes that future admission is not guaranteed.
If you are seeking a second Bachelor's degree, you should apply as a transfer candidate. Students who already have a bachelor's degree are not eligible for financial aid from Colorado College.

To apply, students must complete the following items at least two weeks prior to the block in which they intend to enroll.
- Complete the Special-Status Application.
- Submit your most recent academic transcript (college or secondary school) to the Office of Admission.
Class space is primarily reserved for full-time, degree-seeking Colorado College students. If additional spots are available, special-status students may be admitted.
Colorado College does not accommodate students seeking to complete an entire pre-medical curriculum. Pre-medical science courses are often in high demand, with long waiting lists, making it unlikely for special-status students to complete all required courses in a timely manner.
An admit letter received as a special-status student does not imply that any type of future admission is guaranteed.
Non-degree-seeking, special-status students enrolling in 1-2 blocks per semester are charged the "per-block" fee, as listed on the Tuition & Fees page. This rate applies whether the course is taken for credit or as an audit.
Students seeking tuition remission benefits must contact the Human Resources Office to confirm eligibility. Approval by Human Resources does not guarantee enrollment in desired courses. Tuition-remission eligible students must also complete the Special-Status Application and be admitted by the Office of Admission.
